Pakistan has expelled another team of British military trainers from it's soil
Pakistan has expelled a team of British military trainers sent to help with the fight against the Taliban and al-Qaida.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that at least 18 military advisers, deployed as part of a £15m programme to train the paramilitary Frontier Corps, have been withdrawn from Pakistan. Most are already back in the UK.
Since Bin Laden's death, Pakistan has sent home at least 120 US military trainers, most of whom were engaged in training the FC.
That programme has now virtually collapsed as US-Pakistani relations fall to their lowest point in a decade. The trouble began in January after aCIA contractor, Raymond Davis, shot dead two men in Lahore, prompting the withdrawal of a quarter of the US training force.
The reductions accelerated following the Bin Laden raid, as the military sought to signal its displeasure with its western allies – in particular the CIA.

WHEN ONE OF YOU YAWNS, HE/SHE SHOULD TRY TO RESTRAIN IT;
WHEN ONE OF YOU YAWNS, HE/SHE SHOULD TRY TO RESTRAIN IT;
Narrated by AbuSa'id al-Khudri (Radhiallahu anhu): Allah's Messenger (sallAllaahu `alaihi wasallam) said: "When one of you yawns, he should try to restrain it with the help of his hand since it is the Satan that enters therein". [ Sahih Muslim Number 7131 ]
The Prophet (sallAllaahu `alaihi wasallam) said: "When you yawn, cover your mouth with your hand." (Muslim)
"Try as hard as possible to overcome your yawns while you are in your prayers". (Muslim)
"Allah likes the sneeze and dislikes the yawn. When someone among you sneezes and says: 'Alhamdulillah' (All praise to Allah [for relieving me]), it is essential for all those who hear him to say: "yarhamukallah" (May Allah have mercy on you).
While if someone feels that he is about to yawn, he should try to overcome it, as much as possible [and if it is not possible to overcome it] he must not make sounds like: "haah haah". These sounds are prompted by the shaitan (satan) and he laughs when you make such sounds [while yawning]". (Tirmadhi)

What is the Islamic ruling on festivals like basant (kite flying)
Question:
What is the Islamic ruling on festivals like basant (kite flying) famous in Indo-Pak
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
The legal ruling for following non Islamic traditions carries different rulings:
1. If the tradition or festival is a 'religious function' belonging or representing another religion whilst not a tradition permissible in Islam, then to follow that tradition knowingly whilst regarding it as permissible would be close to disbelief (kufr). To follow it while aware of its impermissibility is at the least highly forbidden and sinful, but some scholars have stated it is still disbelief when it entails upholding a tradition which is praising false deities. And example is the annual festival of Tyatra followed by the Hindus
2. If it is a tradition or festival which is not religious but has sinful activities involved with itsuch as drinking, music, or mixing of sexesthen to take part in these is also impermissible and sinful.
3. If it is a general tradition that does not have anything prohibited involved and is not against the beliefs of Islam then it is at the worst disliked and otherwise permissible. It does not carry reward nor sin, however.
So, what about basant?
In the case of the festival basant (Kite flying) also otherwise known as Utraan, traditionally practised in the Indian subcontinent, to take part in this festival is impermissible for the following reasons;
The Basant festival although not directly belonging to the Hindu religion is now followed in India by polytheists who perform idol worship during the festival. They are commonly seen glorifying their false Deity Shiva and use this festival to celebrate idol worshipping. The common Islamic deriving from the Hadith of The Prophet of Allah (May Allah bless Him and Grant Him Peace) 'You will be with the one you follow' (Tirmidhi) would apply in this circumstance.
Explained by Indian scholar and jurist Sheikh Ahmed Rida Khan;
The festival is an unnecessary waste of time and money without any physical or mental benefit. Hundreds of rupees are spent and countless time is wasting by taking part in this activity. To waste time and money without good reason is also not permissible.
Many deaths occur every year whilst taking part in this festival, as children take to the roofs and do not concentrate on their safety and hence many children die or are injured.
(Fatawa-e- Radhwiyya)
An extract from researcher 'Mahmood Al Hassan Khan' (although promoting the festival) writes;
But even such a joyous festival has a dark side, as hospitals invariably are packed with kite flyers who fall off roofs and children who are hit by cars as they run down the streets, their faces turned towards the sky to watch the kites. Quarters of the city are plunged into darkness when razor-sharp kite cords rolled in powdered glass or made of steel cut electricity wires. Many foolish people use illegal copper, Nylon thread and Tundi to loot the maximum kites. But this nonsense act of few is damaging the national wealth and destroys the Powers System of electricity. It is estimated that if there are 50 one-hour breakdowns, it costs Rs.2.5 million to WAPDA Steel and glass-edged wires are banned but manufacturers still report roaring trade.
Parents of the kids should take special care to their spouse and take every possible measure to share the excitement of Basant without any loss of life and property. Motorcyclists and innocent people travelling along the road should be careful to avoid the unseen death in the shape of Doars.
Of Course Allah knows best.

Amazing Pakistan | First taxi driver to write a book !
A Pakistani Taxi driver Asif Hussain Shah who drives his cab mainly in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and is citizen of Rawalpindi is the person who thought out of box and written a book. His book is named ‘For Hire’, the book is based on his daily experiences while driving his taxi, mostly based on experiences and thoughts he heard from passengers who traveled in his taxi.
Asif Hussain Shah not only wrote the book, he gone one step further, he used his cab as a moving bill board to advertise his book. He used the space on sides and behind his taxi to attract more buyers of his book and spread the word about himself. The painted ads on his taxi mention his book ‘for hire’ and they also tell people to search Asif Hussain Shah on Google. Though he himself don’t have any official website for himself but relies on what other people post about him on internet.
This tactic of painting ads which ask people to search about him on internet make more and more popular with more and more people taking his taxi’s pictures and uploading them on to internet. Same ads given him the media coverage as few TV channels have also covered him.
His idea of online marketing, by an offline ad and no official website to date, worked like charm and now you will find thousands of online posts covering him and his book. Not only this as he travels around more and more people take pictures of his taxi and put them online.
Asif Hussain’s book was the first book in Pakistan which is written by a taxi driver in Pakistan or even first in Pakistan by a person who is in a non-intellectual profession to earn his living. He proved this that anyone can write his daily experience and share them in form of a book no matter he/she belongs to which profession.
Asif hussain shah, as shown in above video still have not stopped writing, he continues to drive his taxi and continues to write while dropping the passengers on desired places in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
If you decide to read Asif Hussain Shah’s book ‘For Hire’, I will recommend that you buy it other than downloading from Internet, so he gets his share which he deserves very much.
US Army suicide rates reach yearly peak | Press TV
A file photo of a US Army funeral procession
US Army suicide rates have reached their highest level in a year both among active-duty soldiers and those who have not been deployed to conflict zones.
According to CNN, May 2011 was the worst month in terms of suicides and suicide attempts as the US military reported 21 cases of 'potential suicides' among active-duty soldiers.
The Pentagon announced the statistics on Thursday, adding that it is still trying to solve the problem.
The US military has also noted that it has difficulty finding a reason for the suicide hike.
April saw 16 potential suicides, which is more than twice the figure released for March.
One reason could be the fact that the military keeps redeploying many of its soldiers already diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, physicians conjecture.
"Today, soldiers and marines are doing multiple tours of duty with very little break time in between each deployment. Even though they are suffering from mental trauma, from PTSD, they are often redeployed to Iraq or Afghanistan without treatment," Dr. Dahlia Wasfi said in an interview with Press TV earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Defense Department's Pharmacoeconomic Center at Fort Sam Houston said last year that 20 percent of active-duty troops were taking prescribed psychotropic drugs including antidepressants, antipsychotics and sedative hypnotics.
The US military has blamed an increase in combat stress in Iraq and Afghanistan as a reason behind the higher suicide rates.
Furthermore, suicides have also increased among US soldiers who were not on active duty.
Figures released earlier this year by the US Army Vice Chief of Staff, General Peter Chiarelli, showed that the number of suicides among soldiers who have never been deployed to conflict zones had also increased sharply.

Pakistan Will Launch Its Another Satellite At The End Of This Year,
Pakistan will launch its first indigenously developed communications satellite on August 14, 2011, from a facility in China.
Speaking to Dawn, Dr Mohammad Riaz Suddle, the director of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission's (Suparco) satellite research and development centre in Lahore, said the satellite's life span will be 15 years.
Responding to a question, Dr Suddle said the satellite would be launched at a longitude of 38 degrees in geostationary orbit on the equatorial plane at an altitude of 36,000km above the Earth's surface.
Paksat-1R will carry a communications payload to facilitate the introduction of a range of new services, including broadband internet, digital TV distribution/broadcasting, remote/rural telephony, emergency communications, tele-education and tele-medicine.
The contract for Pakis- tan Communication Satellite (Paksat-1R) was signed between Suparco and China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a Chinese firm, on October 15, 2008, in Beijing, during President Asif Zardari's visit to China.
Work on the execution of the contract began soon after, and is progressing as scheduled, according to Dr Suddle. He did not reveal the cost of the project, but said the contract involves various other projects, including infrastructure, and therefore it is difficult to put an exact cost on the satellite itself.
Responding to a question, he said that at least two new satellites - Paksat-1R and Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS) - would be launched in the near future.
The satellites have been developed with technical and financial assistance from China.
The project has been approved by the federal government as part of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), he said.
When quizzed on where the finances for the project were coming from, Dr Suddle said that efforts are under way to secure a long-term concessional loan from the Chinese government to finance a major part of the project.
Speaking about the status of Pakistan's space programme in comparison to that of other countries in the region, Dr Suddle asserted that Pakistan's space/satellite development programme "needs to make rapid and sustained progress to meet national needs. India has a very advanced space programme".
At present, Pakistan has a communications satellite, Paksat-1, in orbit, providing coverage across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the South Asian subcontinent. It is being used by TV broadcasters, telecom companies, data and broadband internet service providers and government organisations.
Paksat-1R will replace Paksat-1, a leased satellite, to ensure continuity of service.
In the 1990s, Pakistan also operated a small satellite, Badr-A, in low earth orbit. The country's modest space program, however, has been more oriented towards remote sensing applications.
Badr-A was Pakistan's first indigenously developed satellite and was launched from the Xichang Launch Centre in China on July 16, 1990 aboard a Chinese Long March 2E rocket. Badr-A weighed 150 pounds, and was inserted into an elliptical orbit of 127-615 miles by the rocket. The satellite successfully completed its design life.
Pakistan's second satellite, Badr-B, was an earth observation satellite and was launched on Dec 10, 2001, on a Zenit-2 rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It was designed by Space Innovations Limited, a UK-based company.
Paksat-1 was Pakistan's first geostationary satellite. It was originally known as Palapa C1, was launched in 1996 and had been designed to serve Indonesia. After an electronics failure, it was renamed Anatolia-1 and then renamed again to become Paksat-1 in 2002. It was originally manufactured by Boeing and uses the HS601 spacecraft design.
Suparco set about trying to replace Paksat-1 by signing a consultancy deal with Telesat in March 2007, under which the company will advise Pakistan on the purchase, manufacture and launch of Paksat-1R. Under the agreement, Telesat will help Suparco find a manufacturer and provide technical and commercial advice during the negotiations process. Telesat will also help to oversee the construction of the new satellite and will monitor the launch and provide in-orbit testing services.
Reports quoting credible sources said that Pakistan is also working on development of Satellite Launch Vehicles (SLVs), basing their assumption on Pakistan's success in developing intermediate range ballistic missiles.
Experts believe the missile technology will be used in any SLV. The Indian SLV-3/ASLV uses Agni ballistic missiles as first stage propulsion units and as boosters.
Suparco has already tested two high-altitude sounding rockets: Shahpar and Rakhnum. Shahpar is a seven metre solid fuel two-stage rocket that can carry a payload of 55 kilograms to an altitude of 450 kilometres. Rakhnum can lift a payload of 38kg to an altitude of 100km.
Although Dr Suddle says that Pakistan's new communication satellite would be launched on August 14, 2011, judging from Pakistan's progress in ballistic missile technology, analysts do not rule out the possibility that Suparco may just be waiting for the right moment to test Pakistan's first satellite launch vehicle.
In this context, they cite Dr A.Q. Khan's reported statement in March 2001, in which he had claimed that Pakistani scientists were in the process of building the country's first SLV and that the project had been assigned to Suparco.
According to reports published in March 2005, former president and retired general Pervez Musharraf had authorised renewed research and development on an indigenous launch capability that would be able to put into orbit a domestically built satellite, Paksat-1R.
